Although 90% of the fishing we do here at the Caddis Shack is done in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan we are blessed to have the capacity to put trips together to travel to Lower Michigan! I was able to take a great group of guys below the bridge this last week to experience some great accommodations on some absolutely beautiful water!
The fishing was fair to good with a few steelhead hooked and lost and a few football shaped browns landed! This trip was fantastic not only for the accommodations and the beauty of our surroundings but also due to the fact that this was a group of like minded anglers that wanted one thing and one thing only...............We all wanted the opportunity to swing the fly over and through beautiful water and that mission was accomplished!
We did three rivers in three days and they were all great as conditions and water levels were good. I will say this water was clear and we had sun so the flavor that was working was sculpin/ baitfish patterns in other words with the high sun and water clarity natural was best!
