Fishing Report - Dog days of summer

So here we are in the middle of summer with no shortage of warm weather this year! With what I would describe as an awesome summer so far this high heat and low percentage of rain fall is as we all know having an adverse affect on my trout streams though. Right now I would say that the trout fishing in my area is fair to good with the very early and late evening hrs being the best. The major hatches going on right now are as follows golden stones, caddis, bwos, tricos and the occasional lt cahill. fishing the smaller tribs for brookies is your best bet as the larger rivers are heating up daily and flows are at a minimum.
With this warmth you also need to take special care to take your photos quickly and take your time with the release. These fish will want to jump right out of your net/hands but remember if released to fast after landing them they will just belly up down river so take your time with them and their release
Until next time God bless and be safe!.
