Fishing Report - Dry fly fishing is winding down

Time to shift tactics to fly fishing streamers

· Fishing Reports

As we approach the season of fall the dry fly fishing is winding down. There are still a few Ephron, Light Cahills and such about and plenty of terrestrial dries to be had. As we sink deeper into the fall it is definitely streamer time throwing things like zoo cougars, circus peanuts, and rattlesnakes do very well on sinking lines as the fish are trying to fatten up for the coming winter. Remember though as trout season winds down the big lake run fish will start pushing in as they have already started to trickle into the systems. A few kings and steelhead are already into the systems but as September picks up the numbers of kings and steelhead will as well. Fall is a great time to be in the upper peninsula call sunny days and with a little luck some rain will bring our rivers up and start our annual fall runs.
