Fishing Report - June is prime time to be fly fishing trout in the upper peninsula

June is the prime month for fly fishing in the upper peninsula

· Fishing Reports

A GREAT time to be fly fishing the Upper Peninsula! Right now is an absolutely fantastic time to be in Michigan's Upper Peninsula for the fly fisherman. Both trout fly fishing and smallmouth fly fishing are absolutely awesome right now.

Trout fly fishing in the upper peninsula is especially good for the dry fly fisherman we have brown drakes, sulfurs, ISOs and caddis all hatching well.

Smallmouth fly fishing is doing well on top water with poppers Zud bubblers and Dahlberg divers. Streamer fly fishing for trout and smallmouth is also doing extremely well as it always does but again this is a great time of the year for people who like fishing in the surface. As of today we just had a bit of rain so the rivers are up and flowing a bit high but they calm down quickly. Until next time stay safe and God bless!
