This is going to be a quick one everybody.

Currently in the south-central region of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, we have blanket-style hatches of caddis. Some of them are large, so I have been carrying sizes 12-16 in elk hair, z-caddis, and a handful of emerger patterns.

The hennies are also coming off, and sooner than later, the brown drake, sulfurs, mahoganies, and stones will be honoring us with their presence.

We have had a lot of sun which has given us some beautiful days but in the same breath, we have had no rain leaving us a bit dry for this time of year. We are at the moment offering wade-only trips as we have simply run out of enough water to float with the exception of some 1/2 day trips for smallmouth.

During the afternoon remember the streamer bite in the dark holes and fast choppy water has moved some nice fish and as soon as the stonefly shows his presence in numbers flies as chubby chenobyls and stimmys do well in the fast choppy water in the mid-day sun.
