Fishing Report - Getting ready for fall fly fishing in the UP

Upper peninsula brown trout are getting their streamer bite on

September 26, 2020

Like a powder keg going off! That is what the fall fly fishing in the UP is like right now! This is going to be a quick one folks as Ill be on the river the 72 hrs so I just wanted to get a quick report up. The trout season is fast approaching its end for this year but there are a few days left and its been dynamite! The streamer/swing bite is kicking into high gear along with a great nymphing bite as well.

We have had a fair amount of rain so the lake fish have been moving in as well. Fair bites of steelhead, lake run browns , kings and a few coho have all been brought to the net!

I've also posted a fly that will be available for purchase with-in the next few days. This fly has proven to be a great pattern to swing for both browns and steelhead. Its a nice light weight pattern that is a pleasure to cast and swing!
